Phonics: Wa-hoo! We have finished the alphabet. We will continue working on the following digraphs: /sh/, /th/, and /ch/ this week. Digraphs are “2 letters that go together to make 1 sound.” Ask your child for the hand motions after Wednesday!

Math: We will review skills learned during this 9 weeks including: clocks, coins, patterns, and graphs.

Writing: We will continue to try to write several sentences about the same subject during our Writing Workshop. Most of the class is having trouble with this. Please encourage your child to write as much as possible!!

Theme: Signs of SPRING!! We will be doing some fun art projects as well!!

· SPRING BREAK is next week!

· The class seems to have “spring fever” already, so please remind your child about classroom rules and appropriate school behavior!

· Dr. Seuss dress-up days continue this week…please try to remember to send your child in the special item for the day so they don’t feel left out!

· Don’t forget to be working on your homework chart in your folder. Your children should be reading a good bit at night, but not many are coloring in their monthly reading paper—please help them remember!!

· Remember to send your child’s snack EVERYDAY! I am out of “extra snack!!”

· “Show and tell” was a huge motivator for the class. I may do it more often, but I will always send a note beforehand, so please keep toys at home unless I ask for them!! Thanks!
