We are reviewing the rule: "When 2 vowels go walking, the first one does the talking!" That is why Chante' has her finger over her lip...she is silent! When 2 vowels are together, the first vowel says its LETTER NAME, not the sound!
This blog is designed to encourage parent-teacher communication. I will post announcements for parents of my first graders here so they can access it any time! This blog will also be used to motivate student learning. Look for shared writing, photos of class events, and comments from students about what they are learning! Share the website with grandparents and friends...they must have the correct web address to find this blog.

Making words with "oa" and "ow"
Hey Parents! Have you ever seen such cute letters?!?!? We used our long o vowel rules to build words last week. That cute "o" is MacKenzie, our new student. The precious "w" is Bailey--she came before Christmas. We are so glad to have these new friends in our classroom!!

We tested the "walking vowels rule..." Way to go, first graders!
