This is a fun and easy way to practice math skills at home!! Play often!!!
This blog is designed to encourage parent-teacher communication. I will post announcements for parents of my first graders here so they can access it any time! This blog will also be used to motivate student learning. Look for shared writing, photos of class events, and comments from students about what they are learning! Share the website with grandparents and friends...they must have the correct web address to find this blog.

WAR...the card game!!
To reinforce number recognition and value, we have started playing WAR with the number cards in a normal deck of cards. Children deal out the cards and each hold a stack of cards. Each player flips over the top card. Whoever has the highest card wins the cards played. If there is a tie for the highest card, the players with the highest cards flip over the next card. Whoever wins collects all the cards and adds them to the bottom of their stack. The player who collects all of the cards wins!
